WhatsApp has rolled out new recording and voicemail options for its Android, Nokia, Windows Phone and iPhone devices.
The California-based company, which now has 300 million active users per month, said the new function will allow users to record messages depending on their phone.
For Android, iPhone and Windows Phone 8 devices, users press down a microphone icon next to the box where they type messages, holding it down till the end of their message. You can delete the recording by swiping to the left.
Messages will automatically be played through the phone’s earpiece if it is being held to the user’s ear or speakerphone if the device is being held down.
The company, which has been developing the feature for the past six months, said it would help users whose languages can be harder to type
