The short social media campaign by the mobile firm O2 ends today but has received a lot of attention over the three days.
The seemingly creative campaign has allowed people to send messages to loved ones by tweeting #o2santa and he’ll record the message and send a tweet with a link to the personalised message.
02 announced in its official blog:
"Santa’s grotto is open from 9.00 am on 12 December to 12.00 pm (midday) on 15 December. We’ll try our best to deliver all messages we receive during that time before Santa pays everyone a visit."
YouTube teamed up with the campaign featuring Old St. Nick’s very own YouTube channel complete with a personal profile and a welcome video from Mr. Claus. Check out the video here. Santa has received over 12,000 upload views and nearly 2,000 channel views.
We really enjoyed reading Santa’s profile:
About Me: Ho ho ho! I’m Santa, of course! And this year, I’ve taken some time out from my busy schedule to help my friends at O2 spread some Christmas cheer!
Occupation: Bringing joy to one and all at Christmas
Interests: Tinsel, reindeer, toys, mince pies
Music: Any good old Christmas carol or song
Books: Christmas lists and your #O2Santa tweets take up all my reading time
At this rate kids won’t find out Santa isn’t real until the age of 16.
