News: Half of global data centre portfolio certified with Uptime Institue M&O Stamp of Approval.
CenturyLink has had over half of its data centre portfolio certified with the Uptime Institute’s Management & Operations (M&O) Stamp of Approval.
The remaining 50 global data centres in CenturyLink‘s portfolio are due to be evaluated for the M&O Stamp of Approval in the next 12 months.
CenturyLink is on track to deliver on last year’s pledge to have the M&O Stamp of Approval for all of its data centres, a certification which validates the critical facilities management and operations practices of an existing data centre.
This announcement follows last month’s news that CenturyLink could sell off its entire data centre fleet, with the certification possibly indicating efforts to make the business more appealing to perspective buyers.
"We sought a level of achievement to differentiate CenturyLink’s data centres beyond what was expected or commonplace. Uptime Institute’s M&O Stamp of Approval requires a level of rigor and aptitude specific to data centres that digs into, and recognizes, our operational achievements," said David Meredith, senior vice president, CenturyLink.
With the largest portfolio of certified sites around the globe, CenturyLink has also received several Tier Certifications from Uptime Institute for recent data centre build projects throughout the United States, Canada and Hong Kong.
