Computer security software provider McAfee has introduced four new Data Center Security Suites to help secure servers and databases in the data centre.
The four new suites will combine the whitelisting, blacklisting and virtualisation technologies for protecting servers and virtual desktops, the company claimed.
With the new Data Center Security Suites, customers can protect their physical and virtual servers and virtual desktops with a combination of technologies in a single application.
In addition, the new suites claims to provide optimal security for servers and databases in physical, virtualised and cloud-based data centres, with minimal impact on server resources.
McAfee’s new Data Center Security Suites include: suite for server, suite for Server-Hypervisor Edition, suite for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and Database Server Protection.
The suite for server provides a set of blacklisting, whitelisting and optimised virtualisation support capabilities for basic security on servers of all types.
Server-Hypervisor Edition provides a set of blacklisting, whitelisting and optimised virtualisation support capabilities for basic security on servers of all types and is licensed per Hypervisor.
The security suite for virtual desktop infrastructure provides security for virtual desktop deployments without compromising performance or the user experience.
McAfee Database Server Protection provides data base activity monitoring and vulnerability assessment in a single suite, for all major database servers in the data centre.
McAfee Endpoint Security senior vice president and general manager Candace Worley said the combination of whitelisting, blacklisting and virtualisation in a single application, offers an optimal security posture for protecting servers in the data centres.
"These solutions address the need in the industry to offer solutions that provide the highest level of protection with minimal impact on the resources they are deployed on and in a wide range of customized licensing options," Worley said.
