Company sees profit and customer numbers grow.
VMware posted its Q2 results, reporting a 4% rise in its revenue.
With revenue rising to $1.597 billion from $1.46 billion a year ago, these figures could have been better had it not been reduced by the $75.5 million settlement with the Justice Department. The fine was related to allegedly overcharging the government department for its software and services.
A profit was posted of $172 million, up from $167 million a year ago, with the company seeing its VSAN customer base jump to 2,000 up from 1,000 six months ago.
The company’s Q2 licenses revenue also went up 4% from the second quarter of 2014.
Pat Gelsinger, CEO, VMware, said: "Our second quarter results are solid, building on our solid start to the year in Q1.
"We experienced strong industry validation from industry analysts, partners and customers throughout the quarter and also unveiled our Business Mobility strategy and key announcements enabling organizations to transform their business processes."
