US stores will now stock the Ecobee 3 wireless thermostat, a direct competitor to Nest.
Apple said it will no longer sell the Google-owned Nest Labs’ Internet-linked thermostats online or in its US retail stores.
Nest Labs was acquired by Google for $3.3bn last year.
The iPhone maker has removed the product from stores replacing it with the Ecobee 3 wireless thermostat, which is considered to be a direct competitor to Nest.
Users are allowed to control the smart thermostat using Siri on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, provided it has iOS 8.1 or later version of operation system.
On the removal of Nest thermostats from stores, Reuters quoted Apple spokesman Nick Leahy as saying, "We regularly make changes to our merchandise mix in stores."
The news agency has however found that the product was still available in Apple’s online stores in several countries such as the UK, France and Ireland.
Nest spokeswoman Ivy Choi said: "Apple is a valued partner to Nest and our new products will be available through Apple in the coming weeks."
