News: Platform will help airport predict and optimise demand planning.
Gatwick is implementing Anaplan’s solution to improve its forecasting capabilities and cope with fluctuations in passenger volumes.
The airport will use the platform to provide teams across the buildings with a single source of passenger information.
This will allow Gatwick to predict and optimise demand planning for the 41 million passengers it expects to travel through the airport this year.
David Harpur, Head of Sales and Operations Planning at Gatwick Airport commented that the platform would provide the airport with "greater robustness and the integrity of data we desire."
Ian Stone, UK and Ireland Managing Director, Anaplan, added: "Global travel is a dynamic and complex industry in which forecasting has rapidly risen to the top of the agenda to model and optimise processes efficiently. We are excited to work with Gatwick Airport and support their growth ambitions."
Anaplan has previously worked with other providers in the airline space. In 2014, Brussels Airlines, the Belgian airline offering the widest choice of flights at Brussels Airport, chose Anaplan to boost its financial planning and analysis strategy. The Anaplan platform provides insights on product planning and allocation, cost planning, and capital expenditures.
The airline will leverage Anaplan to determine passenger revenue allocation to flight numbers in real-time.
