Ethernet services with high performance features, flexibility and scalability
AboveNet, a provider of high bandwidth connectivity offerings, has expanded its Metro Ethernet and dynamic Core Wave services in the London metro market.
The new offerings will help meet customer demand for high performance and high bandwidth offerings and facilitate connectivity between London’s business and data hubs.
The company said that its offerings are optimised for high bandwidth customers, with a particular focus on Ethernet services with high performance features, flexibility and scalability.
The company’s investment in metro area network (MAN) services in London follows its network expansion to strategic locations in Europe.
The extended network reach combined with the new MAN offerings will enable dynamic, high bandwidth connectivity between London and the top business centres in the US and Europe.
The metro Ethernet and Core Wave offerings provide a high bandwidth data network for point-to-point and multipoint connections in and between the London metro markets.
The new offering benefits include 100mbps, 1Gbps, 2.5Gbps, and 10Gbps connections; advanced features such as privacy, security and jumbo frame support; extensive customer choice with scalable technology platforms; and converged access options to add multiple services over the same network.
The company said that the London metro customers also can leverage AboveNet’s network footprint for international business connectivity as its infrastructure includes 2.3 million fibre miles, an intercity network spanning approximately 12,000 route miles, and a global Tier 1 IP backbone.
AboveNet chief technology officer Rajiv Datta said the company continues to invest in global markets where the need for high bandwidth offerings is growing at an exponential rate.
