Comprises 24 x 2,500 squarefoot modules and 60,000sqft technical floor capacity
Capgemini, a provider of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, has established a new data centre in the UK.
Capgemini said that the clients who outsource their IT or business processes, or use its cloud offerings will benefit from cost savings and a high level of quality and technical service from the new facility.
The new Merlin data centre which is built in Swindon, near London, boasts a low power usage effectiveness (PUE) annualised rating of 1.08, and features a smart modular design which can be tailored to suit client needs.
The new facility also offers fresh air cooling system, BMS and climate control, and a 60,000sqft technical floor capacity, comprising 24 x 2,500 squarefoot modules.
Capgemini CEO of global infrastructure management Richard Dicketts said, the Merlin facility represents a new generation of data centre design, which redefines industry standards and has resulted from both its long term drive to improve efficiency and contractual imperatives to deliver environmental efficiency.
