Speed up mobile video, internet and cloud computing services delivery
Cisco has introduced Traffic Packet Optimisation (TPO) service capability, a new addition to its ASR 5000 In-Line Services portfolio.
Cisco said that TPO speeds up the delivery of mobile video, internet and cloud computing services, improving end users’ mobile experiences while reducing traffic loads on service providers’ mobile networks.
The new TPO service reduces capital and operational expenses and allows service providers to simultaneously increase network capacity and performance.
The company said that the new service optimises transmission control protocol (TCP) and hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) traffic to improve performance of video and Web applications, while reducing traffic.
Cisco Mobile Internet Technology Group VP and GM Ash Dahod said the new Traffic Packet Optimisation service can help service providers reduce traffic loads, which can translate into a significant reduction in RAN backhaul costs.
