With the likes of Intel Corp and Apple Computer Inc shunning the bright lights of the Big Board and satisfied to see their shares remain traded only on the Nasdaq over-the-counter system, a New York Stock Exchange listing has lost much of the kudos it once had, but some newer companies – Compaq Computer Corp for example – still have a hankering after the status it confers, and VM Software Inc, Reston, Virginia has announced plans to go for a Big Board quote.
