Development, maintenance and support of industry-specific, software-based offerings
Accenture has agreed to acquire a German-based customer relationship management (CRM) and mobility software provider Computer Anwendungs-und Systemberatung (CAS). Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
CAS specialises in the development and implementation of software offerings that are used by major consumer product companies and can be deployed on all major mobile devices.
Accenture said that the acquisition will enhance its ability to help consumer products companies improve their in-store strategies through more effective and efficient retail execution.
In addition, it also will build on the growing list of offerings of Accenture Software, which focuses on the development, maintenance and support of industry-specific, software-based offerings, with more than 40 software products today.
CAS founder and CEO Stefan Joneck said the company is excited to be joining forces with Accenture, whose experience in consulting and technology services for the consumer goods industry, combined with global delivery and outsourcing capabilities will enable their software offerings to be more relevant to consumer products companies.
"We look forward to continuing to serve all of our existing customers both locally and globally, and to leveraging the Accenture network to increasing our access to many more clients around the world," Joneck said.
Accenture said that it intends to continue to use the CAS software product name and will manage the product suite within the Accenture Software business.
Further, CAS’s headquarters and development centre in Kaiserslautern, Germany, will continue to focus on software offering development for the consumer goods and services industry.
