BPO represented 95% of new deals
IT services provider Affiliated Computer Services has reported a 12% increase in net income to $93m for the third quarter 2009, compared to net income of $83m in the year-ago quarter, on revenue up 4% at $1.61 billion.
Operating income grew 7% to $174m, while diluted EPS increased 12% to $0.95. Operating cash flow during the quarter was $142m. The company generated new business signings of $342m in annual recurring revenue, with commercial deals contributing 71%, and government deals contributing 29%. Business process outsourcing represented 95% of new deals, while IT outsourcing represented 5%.
It said commercial revenue grew 6% and represented 60% of the total revenue, while government revenue grew 3% and represented 40% of the total revenue.
During the quarter, the company acquired e-Services Group, a Jamaican-based provider of business process outsourcing and customer care for approximately $85m.
Lynn Blodgett, president and chief executive at ACS, said: Our business demonstrated remarkable performance in the current economic climate. We signed a record level of new business, we grew revenues and profit, and we generated the highest level of adjusted earnings per share in our history.
