Product lifecycle management vendor Agile Software Corp announced version 9.2 of its eponymous software suite, claiming it expands on the previous version’s compliance, product portfolio, product collaboration, and quality management modules, as well as adding support for Linux.
The new version, slated for release on December 19, is said to enhance flexibility, improve intellectual property security, and reduce total cost of ownership thanks to that Linux support. Support for Linux so far runs only to Red Hat Linux AS version 4.0.
The company said the latest rev builds on version 9, which saw the delivery a unified PLM architecture. Specifically, the latest version includes an improvement to the Agile Product Governance and Compliance module, so it now provides expanded capabilities to manage Bill of Substance information and rollup compliance information using a variety of scenarios. It also delivers improved supplier declaration capability and regulatory information, the company said.
Agile Product Portfolio Management now includes executive portfolio analytics and bi-directional integration with Microsoft Project, while Agile Product Collaboration adds enhanced change collaboration and document management capabilities.
Newly introduced is Agile Product Quality Management, which includes advanced analytics capabilities integrating customer, product, quality and regulatory information, the company said.
The company claims to have over 10,000 customers, including Alcatel, Bayer, Dell, Flextronics International, Foxconn, Harris, Hitachi, Leapfrog, and Lockheed Martin. In its latest quarter it posted sales up nearly 12% to $31.5m but posted a net loss of $4m, up from a loss of less than $1m in the same quarter a year ago.
