Features Intel Atom processor and 128GB solid-state storage disk
American Reliance (AMREL) will unveil the HC-2, a new computer platform for wearable and handheld applications, at the LandWarNet Conference to be held in August in Florida.
According to AMREL, the HC-2 computer platform features Intel Atom processor which provides a fully functioning Windows XP environment. It comes with up to 128GB solid-state storage disk.
AMREL said that the new computer platform’s interface enables integration of small application modules, which can be equipped virtually for any purpose, including biometrics, data collection, sensor monitoring, and battlefield medical diagnostics. Since they can be switched in the field, the application modules make the HC-2 a single system for multiple tasks.
Reportedly, the new computer platform has connectivity to military tactical radios, which allow access to battlefield network. It is compliant to MIL-STD 810F.
Ron McMahan, chief operating officer of AMREL, said: “The HC-2 packs a big punch in a small package. The small form factor is impressive, but what we’re really excited about is HC-2’s outstanding flexibility.”
The company said that the new computer platform is part of its FLEX series of adaptable mobile computer platforms. The new computer platform incorporates FLEX connectivity in a smaller form factor.
