Founder Steve Hui has resigned as chief executive of struggling Fremont, California-based personal computer manufacturer Everex Systems Inc, to be succeeded by Jack Kenney. Everex also cut its workforce by another 200 employees and it now numbers about 900. It hopes to ship a portion of its backlog orders, now ballooned to $26m, primarily 80386 and 80486 systems. Kenney, of Kenney Associates, is experienced in financial restructurings of high technology companies.
