RFID software maker Applied Logistics Inc has changed its name to Fluensee and raised an undisclosed amount of first round venture capital financing.
The company’s new name is part of its strategy to push into industries beyond transportation and logistics, according to the company.
Fluensee did not specify those additional industries, but said it would expand into additional markets that are faced with a growing need to gain improved control and visibility over their assets, in a statement.
Fluensee’s software promises to give companies better visibility, control and security of RFID deployments that track physical assets. Software from Englewood, Colorado-based Fluensee also works with barcode, GPS and sensor technologies.
IllinoisVentures led the VC round.
