Communications gear maker Avaya Inc and Samsung Electronics announced they had inked deal to jointly develop and market VoIP and other IP communications technologies.
Under the deal, the companies will co-develop converged voice, video and data IP-based enterprise products, with an emphasis on mobile.
Initially, Samsung will market and resell Avaya’s contact center and IP telephony products in Korea. The deal will also mean co-development of technologies for Avaya’s IP-based mobility and convergence devices, which may or may not be co-branded.
This agreement enables us to increase our global competitive advantage in IP communications and further strengthen our position in the Asia Pacific region, said Avaya chief executive Donald Peterson, in a statement.
Terms of the deal between Basking Ridge, New Jersey-based Avaya and Korea-based Samsung were not disclosed.
