Award Software Inc of the US has teamed with Sun Electronics of Nagoya, and the electronics distributor Kanematsu Semiconductor to assemble and sell an AT-alike which will use the BIOS developed by Award Software and a five-chip VLSI AT set developed by Sun Electronics: it will be a two-way arrangement, with Award expanding its PC-DOS software development and design consulting service, at the same time developing and selling its BIOS, as well as becoming the European, US and Canadian agent for Sun, offering the BIOS-chip set combination; in Japan Kanematsu will be the agent for both companies and will be sell to Personalike makers; Award has sold its BIOS to over 300 companies and IBM has not found any grounds to sue for copyright violation.
