Azlan Group Plc, the Wokingham, Berkshire-based personal computer and networking systems distributor, announced its first figures since flotation on the London Stock Exchange last November. Not only has the company doubled turnover, it was up 49% to #61.5m but it is also basking in the glory of winning the Retix award for Top Worldwide Distributor for the fourth consecutive year. More specifically UK sales rose 45.3% to #59.7m and sales in Germany soared 1,476% to #6,2m. In Denmark Azlan saw vague signs of profitablity when its Danish division’s turnover went from zero to #2.2m. Last month Azlan opened a training centre in Central London and now has customers including Digital Equipment Corp, Lotus Development Corp, Novell Inc and Microsoft Inc. Acquisition of the French value-added networking distributor, Research and Development SA, (CI No 2,418) has made a promising start and Azlan believes the German business will continue to do well.
