To standardise and streamline the delivery of its card portfolios across multiple geographies and lines of business
Barclays and First Data, a global technology provider of information commerce, have entered into a agreement according to which Barclays will migrate a range of card portfolios to First Data’s issuing and consumer finance platform.
The contract is built on an existing association through which Barclaycard’s partnership card programmes have been implemented over the last couple of years. First Data has been providing customer contact centre and fraud and risk services to Barlcays and these services have been considered successful.
David Skillen, chief operating officer of Barclays Global Retail Bank, said: We have selected First Data’s issuing platform because of its breadth of capability and proven benefits. Its scale and flexibility will help us to create more standardised and seamless delivery for our portfolios, across multiple geographies and lines of business.
Nadeem Shaikh, head of the financial institutions line of business at First Data, said: We are very pleased to be expanding our successful relationship with the Barclays group through this new agreement. We are confident that First Data’s issuing solution and expertise will assist Barclays in creating a more standardised and efficient process to support the growth and continuing enhancement of their world-class consumer finance products.
