The latest and greatest keyboards, cases, and covers for Apple’s latest iPad.
This week Apple unveiled its latest tablet, the iPad Air 2. Making significant improvements over the previous Air tablet, the Air 2 runs on iOS 8, is just 6.1mm thick, and has a spectacular 9.7-inch retina display. CEO Tim Cook said that the iPad Air 2 is "beautifully simple on the outside, but packed with tech inside".
You’ll obviously need a case or cover to protect this beauty, and possible a keyboard cover too so the tablet can have more of a laptop functionality. Here are some of the initial offerings from case vendors that stand out.
Hot on the heels of Apple’s iPad Air 2 announcement, Belkin has revealed its lineup of corresponding cases, including one very nice looking keyboard case.
For £129.99, Belkin offers the QODE Ultimate Pro keyboard case. The keyboard combines functionality with tablet protection, and is a perfect addition to the iPad Air 2.
The non-pro version is available for £99.99, but if you want to keep it really simple and budget, Belkin’s Chambray cover (below) for £34.99 offers the usual flip case stand mode and protection.
The cases will be released in December.
Snugg’s black leather iPad Air 2 case is £29.99 on Amazon, and comes in a range of colours such as blue, gree, orange, black, and grey.
There is an elastic hand strap which makes holding the iPad and showing off content to a group of people easier.
Of course all the necessary ports and holes are cut out of the case, and there is also a stylus loop which holds a stylus for the iPad Air 2.
Apple’s own Smart Cover features a one-piece polyurethane construction, a sleek hinge that fits with the slim design of the device, and comes in seven colours.
As per usual, the cover wakes and sleeps your iPad when opened and closed, and also folds into varying positions for reading and movie viewing.
This ‘Outback’ slip case from Waterfield will surely turn some heads. Made from rugged, waxed canvas, the inside is softyl padded with a plastic insert that stops your screen from getting damaged. There is also a leather strap that closes with a magnetic lock.
The aluminium Clamcase Pro is the closest you’re going to get to turning the iPad Air 2 into a laptop. The tablet snaps into the clamshell designed case which even has a 360 degree hinge. The case is up for preorder now.
