Seattle-based Aldus Corp’s PageMaker 5.0 is about to go into beta test according to PC Week, which will vie with those of Quark Inc’s $900 XPress program: PageMaker 5.0 will ship shortly after MacWorld Expo in January and retain its $800 tag, sources said, but new features will include opening of multiple files, text rotation, graphics, a retooled interface and performance improvements; a similar upgrade for Windows will also ship in January.
