India’s RPG Telecom, part of the $1,276m RPG group and the $1,595m Reliance Group are planning separate bids for building and operating basic telephone service networks, Bombay newspapers have reported: RPG Telecom has formed a consortium with Pacific Telesis International Inc, San Diego-based Qualcomm Group Inc, Fujitsu Ltd and Itochu Corp to bid jointly for building and operating basic telephone service networks, the Economic Times said; RGP Telecom will have a majority of the consortium.
