British Telecommunications Plc has launched an X400 electronic messaging system for DEC VAXes. Called TX400-VP, the stand-alone package can be used on any VAX system to run under VAX/VMS to link into a world-wide electronic mail system. The system conforms to the CCITT X400 standard and has been developed by British Telecom’s Software Centre for the finance, retail and travel markets. Details of prices will be released next month when it is demonstrated at the DEC User show and will vary according to configuration.
