Brokat Infosystems AG, the Stuttgart, Germany-based electronic banking and secure e-commerce software developer, plans a listing on Nasdaq in the first half of next year as part of a major expansion of US activities which will see the company’s managing board relocating to the US. This follows a year when the company turned in a net loss of DM 36.4m ($19.3m), up from a loss of DM 8.1m ($4.3m) on revenue that grew by 107.4% to DM 61.4m ($32.6m).
Brokat more than doubled its headcount to 512 in the past year and attributed the increase in sales to its organizational growth. The company says partnership and licensing activities also contributed to the expansion in sales. The company’s best known product, Twister, acts as a bridge between an SAP system and multiple online channels. Brokat is looking for an expansion of partnerships with systems integrators to implement e-business systems with Twister and SAP applications.
