Includes supply of desktops, laptops, notebooks, netbooks, personal data assistants and mobile internet devices
Buying Solutions, a national procurement partner for UK public services, has awarded Fujitsu a place on the commoditised IT hardware and software framework agreement. Fujitsu was awarded all three lots, which include desktop hardware, IT infrastructure hardware and specialist channel partners for software.
As part of the framework agreement, Fujitsu will be supplying personal computing products including desktops, laptops, notebooks, netbooks, personal data assistants, mobile internet devices and peripherals including printers, monitors, spares and accessories. The supply of IT infrastructure equipment includes servers, storage, routers, switches and hubs with or without bundled operating systems.
Fujitsu said it will also supply a range of commercial and open source software, software licenses and associated software services including software asset management; and the supply of a range of associated services connected with all of the above.
The award for the commoditised IT hardware and software framework agreement follows Fujitsu being awarded all six lots on the software application solutions framework agreement in January 2010.
Paul Parrish, managing director of technology solutions division at Fujitsu UK and Ireland, said: “The Commoditised IT Hardware and Software framework agreement in particular is an exciting opportunity for us to make a difference through sustainable and energy efficient products and associated services – whether that is through future opportunities to offer cloud-based Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) or our range of ESPRIMO 0-Watt PCS and displays.”
