Software giant Q2 net income up 7%.
Software giant CA Technologies has reported a 2.4% revenue dip in its fiscal second quarter with mainframe sales still on the decline.
Reported revenue for the period ending September 30 was $1.08bn, down from $1.1bn for the same period last year.
However, net income for its second quarter rose nearly 7% to $256m.
CA Technologies CEO Mike Gregoire said: "We are starting to see traction in the market as a result of our efforts. Enterprise Solutions new sales were up for the second consecutive quarter. We continued to see solid performance in connection with renewals and we maintained financial discipline across the business. Although we are pleased with this progress, we remain focused on the work needed to drive sustained revenue growth."
CA Technologies attributed the dip to a decrease in subscription and mainetenance revenue, which was largely due to a decrease in Mainframe Solution revenue.
The firm gave a forward-looking estimate for a contiunued total revenue decrease of 1-2% in 2015.
