Cadence Design Systems Inc reports that it has received a three-year multi-million dollar electronic design automation product and consulting contract from IBM Corp and Motorola Inc for use in their new PowerPC Somerset design centre in Austin, Texas: Cadence’s electronic design automation systems will be integrated with proprietary design tools from IBM and Motorola; Cadence design consulting engineers will also work on-site with nearly 300 Somerset design engineers for three years as part of the pact.
