To use three of Siemens PLM Software’s D-Cubed component software products
Israel-based Cimatron, a provider of integrated CAD/CAM services, has renewed its agreement to use three of Siemens PLM Software’s D-Cubed component software products – 2D DCM, 3D DCM and HLM – inside its CimatronE suite of integrated CAD/CAM services. The agreement has also been extended to include support for the 64-bit PC/Windows platform.
According to Siemens, CimatronE offers mold and die designers applications for modeling, electrode design and NC tool-path generation. The parametric sketching foundations of CimatronE’s CAD capability are provided by the 2D DCM. The 3D DCM is used for parametric part positioning in support of mold and die assembly modeling, and the HLM is used for accurate generation of hidden line drawings.
Danny Haran, president and CEO of Cimatron, said: The D-Cubed components are widely used across the CAD/CAM application development industry. After a review of our future requirements and options, we are pleased to have secured long-term access to these important technologies and to extend our use to 64-bit platforms. Factors such as ease of integration and high quality support services make a valuable contribution to meeting the needs of our customers in the relevant functional areas.
