Email security and filtering vendor CipherTrust Inc said it now offers a phishing and zombie monitoring service for companies wanting to safeguard against their assets, brand or reputation being used for malicious or fraudulent online activity.
The new CipherTrust Radar commercial services builds on the company’s public service TrustedSource reputation database, which provides free information on sender reputation.
Although subscribers do not need be using the CipherTrust IronMail appliance, the service is reliant on a stream of latest intelligence data from the associated TrustedSource sender reputation database.
That database has tens of millions of addresses in it, each with a reputation score. But unknown addresses, many of which can be zombies, have no reputation. However, CipherTrust has developed technology that can measure the probability that an unknown address is a zombie and make assumptions accordingly. The company says it analyses data from a variety of sources, including more than 100 billion consumer/ISP messages a month and another 10 billion enterprise messages a month.
The Radar subscription service starts at $10,000 a year.
Radar-360 is set up to let enterprise subscribers track their online presence and will issue alerts to spotlight instances where a company’s name is being used in fraudulent messages.
The other service line of Radar-Inside is for administrators looking to protect their network from being manipulated by zombie machines. It allows them to monitor internal IP addresses and domains, for any of the unusual activity that is typically associated with compromised zombie PCs.
