Columbus IT Partner AS, the largest specialist IT services company focused on implementing Microsoft’s Business Solutions applications for mid-size companies, is to acquire Dutch software development company To-Increase BV.
Copenhagen, Denmark-based Columbus will pay a basic 2.7m euros ($3.2m) in shares, plus a potential two-year earn-out of 2.8m euros ($3.3m) in shares for To-Increase, which has 30 employees that develop add-on software for Microsoft’s Dynamics AX and Dynamics NAV product suites.
To-Increase’s main product is a web-based sales and products configuration tool called e-Con, which is designed to enable clients to configure custom products, quote prices that take into account customer-specific requirements, calculate costs and margins, and create and send quotes or orders.
Columbus, which has 750 employees worldwide, was recently named by Microsoft as a development partner to help the software giant tailor its Business Solutions applications towards the specific demands of the retail sector.
Columbus’s alliance with Microsoft stems from the Danish company’s close relationship with Nordic mid-market accounting software vendors Navision and Damgaard Data, which were acquired by Microsoft in 2002.
