Sony Corp shares slumped 4.9% in London after investors sold the shares on Sony’s surprise announcement after Tokyo’s close that it had written off $2,650m of goodwill from its movie acquisitions; it had planned to amortise the goodwill over 30 years, and some suspect that it may sell what is now Sony Pictures Entertainment.
