Austin, Texas computer manufacturer CompuAdd Corp, which sells personal computers by mail order, and, unlike Dell Computer Corp, doesn’t mind you using the term about its operations, has opened a European office in Bristol: the company will employ 25 people selling a range of AT-compatible 800386 and 80286 machines using the same retailing techniques; models on offer include the new CompuAdd 386/16, priced at UKP2,000 for 1Mb CPU, 44Mb hard disk, keyboard and a monochrome monitor; the 286/10 and 286/12, at UKP1,100 and UKP1,150 respectively, come with a 20Mb hard disk, keyboard and monochrome monitor – and all three models are available immediately.
