Whether you call them integrated or converged, all in one server, storage and network box sales are growing
Global integrated infrastructure and platforms market reported 33.8% rise in revenue during the second quarter of 2014 to $2.4bn.
According to IDC’s latest Worldwide Quarterly Integrated Infrastructure and Platforms Tracker, the overall new storage capacity shipments reached 833PB, up 63.4% compared to corresponding quarter last year.
IDC Storage research director Eric Sheppard said: "It’s notable that sales of integrated systems have driven considerable and continued growth at a time when many portions of the enterprise infrastructure market have experienced lackluster results.
"Integrated systems have clearly become a critical go-to market approach and an important source of growth for infrastructure suppliers looking to capitalize on a market need to reduce data centre infrastructure inefficiencies."
