Corel Corp has announced a new product strategy for CorelDraw 5, which it’s just started shipping. It will offer a CorelDraw 5 graphics and publishing suite, including six modules and several utilities, as well as stand-alone versions of both Corel Ventura 5 and Corel Photo-Paint 5. The new product strategy will involve three options. The first is a CorelDraw 5 suite that includes CorelDraw, Ventura, Photo-Paint, CorelChart, CorelMove, CorelShow, CorelQuery, Mosaic, Trace, Capture, CorelKern and Corel DB Editor. The Corel Ventura 5 module won’t ship with the initial production run of Cor-elDraw 5; instead, the firm will include a coupon in every package of the CorelDraw 5 suite. The second option involves selling Corel Ventura 5 as a stand-alone product. Scheduled to ship in July, this will include Corel Ventura, Photo-Paint, CorelKern, Corel DB Editor and TagWrite. Corel Ventura 5 will be $500 for the CD-ROM version and $600 for the disk version. Photo-Paint as a standalone product will be $200 on CD-ROM, $250 on disk.
