Cray Research Inc, which had expected a small profit, now says it will report a loss for 1992 because the acceptance of one of its large systems has been delayed from late December to this month: the Cray Y-MP C90 order, valued at about $32m, completed its acceptance period on January 2 and the company’s policy is to recognise revenue on acceptance; separately, the company said it received an order for a Cray Y-MP M94 from Forschungszentrum Jlich GmbH, the first order worldwide for a four-processor, 2,048Mb model from the top-end M90 series.
