To provide professional engineering support services to NAVSEA
IT services vendor CSC has won a five-year $368m contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command, NAVSEA, to provide professional engineering support services.
The company said it will provide support for naval ship preliminary design and contract design, oversight of detailed design and construction efforts, and engineering support for all types of ships. It will also provide engineering and management support across all ship design, acquisition, and life-cycle phases, and will remain actively engaged in advanced ship, vehicle, and future fleet force development.
The CSC team consists of more than 55 specialty engineering subcontractors and consultants including CDI Marine, Marine Systems, Reliability and Performance Technologies, and Zimmerman Associates.
James W Sheaffer, president at CSC’s North American Public Sector, said: For more than 30 years, CSC has maintained an innovative, proactive partnership with NAVSEA, and we are committed to delivering responsive and cost effective support to help meet their mission-critical requirements. We are proud that the Navy continues to count on us for our depth and breadth of superior technical staff, and our history of exceptional support to all phases of NAVSEA programs.
The deal follows other defense contracts recently awarded to CSC including a two-year $80m contract from the US Air Force to provide a comprehensive range of aviation maintenance and repair services for the US Army’s 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. It also won a five-year contract from the US Army Biometrics Task Force to provide biometrics services, technical and management expertise, and application-related enabling products.
