The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court last week ruled that Cullinet Software Inc, Westwood, Massachusetts, may not market its version of McCormack & Dodge’s G/L PLUS general ledger system outside the US and Canada: the decision upholds a 1985 ruling by Massachusetts Superior Court that Cullinet’s marketing rights were limited to those markets; Cullinet, which bought some rights to the general ledger package in 1981, filed suit three years later claiming that it would own worldwide marketing rights to its version of the package after 1986.
