Cybersecurity school launches in London Bridge

A school dedicated to cybersecurity has opened in London Bridge, in the latest initiative to counter a lack of technology skills in the UK.

Students at the Global Institute of Cyber, Intelligence & Security (GICIS) will be offered short courses on cyber-resilience, policing, counter-terrorism financial crimes and military work.

Martin Wright, academic director at GICIS, said: "GICIS has been founded to prepare people working in the field for the multi-faceted challenges posed by the current risks we all face.

"The Cyber School aims to provide a better understanding of issues and solutions surrounding the nature of crime, cyber-insecurity and terrorism.

"At a time when international cyber-security is being continuously tested, such as reports that the US Central Command Twitter account was hacked by pro-IS group, we are eager to launch our expert training school in order to upskill and train people in the industry."
