Danbus Memory Systems of San Diego, California has signed an agreement with Shanghai Jiao Tong University for initial funding and immediate structuring of a US joint venture company to produce 5.25 advanced magnetic thin-film disk media: under the agreement, Jiao Tong will invest $1m for a minority interest in a new American company to be formed in California and headed by Danbus and as well as the cash, Jiao Tong will supply personnel and some technical support for the project while Danbus will provide equipment which it has on hand in San Diego and supervision for the project, which calls for fabrication of one 25,000-disk-a-month production system and purchase of an additional production system for Danbus’ new 5.25 drives planned to be made in China and Singapore.
