Executives at Digital Equipment Corp on Friday celebrated the announcement from Microsoft Corp that it would stop making its Windows NT operating system for computers based on the PowerPC chip, reports the Boston Globe. Sounds a bit short-sighted to us, since most people will take the fact that the R-series and PowerPC versions have already died and only Alpha is left as invalidating the whole concept of running Windows NT on any processor other than Pentium Pro.
