DEC says its order from British Gas Plc for VAXes and VAxstations, value undisclosed, will be the biggest configuration to date anywhere in the world, of computers for utility mapping applications: the system will create digital map databases of mains layouts in operating regions across the country, and Synercom Technology Inc will supply geo-relational information management software products and related services for the system.
