DEC this week introduces the price increase everyone has been expecting from the company – but it’s rather higher than the 3% to 5% across the board that had been expected, and comes in disguise, since it is effected by an ending of one-year free maintenance: that option will now be available only on carry-in repairs. There is an additional 2% price increase on add-on upgrades installed after the machine is shipped. The new regime starts now in the US, and hits the rest of the world next year. Details in page 3.
