According to Digital Equipment Corp, Intel has agreed to continue supplying DEC with Pentium chips at least until the fourth quarter. Intel had claimed that DEC’s current purchase order ran out in the third quarter. Intel declined to comment on the supply arrangement. The supply is a major concern for DEC, as it sold some $2.2bn worth of Intel-based computers in 1996, which represents over a quarter of its total revenues. DEC told Reuters that its product agreement with Intel ran through 1999 and it did not expect any interruptions.
