Digital Computer Ltd, which has a base in Ireland, is investing to extend its facilities for supporting users in an attempt to sell more of its Kiss expert system shell, which was developed in-house: it is currently running free seminars, and next month will begin five day – paid for – training courses, as well as stepping up customer handholding while they get to grips with Kiss; the expert system environment doesn’t need specialised hardware and runs on standard workstations; at $27,000 it is seen as relatively cheap.
