Los Angeles based pay television specialist DirecTV Inc and SBC Communications Inc have signed a multi-year marketing and distribution agreement to provide digital satellite television service for Southwestern Bell. SBC also agreed with US Satellite Broadcasting to offer US Satellite’s premium movie services to its customers. DirecTV and US Satellite programming will be offered through digital set-top boxes as part of Southwestern Bell’s SmartMoves program, which enables owners of apartment complexes to offer a line of communications and entertainment services to their tenants.
