NEC’s SIGMABLADE provides foundation for mission-critical enterprise infrastructure
Enterprise-scale converged infrastructure management offerings provider Egenera has signed an intent-to-deliver agreement with Japan-based volume server provider NEC to develop PAN Manager6 software optimised for NEC’s SIGMABLADE System.
By leveraging standard server and networking technology PAN Manager simplifies data center infrastructure and management to create a data center fabric on which both bare metal and virtualised workloads can be quickly and easily provisioned, providing the ideal platform for delivering cloud-based services and large scale Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) deployments.
NEC’s SIGMABLADE allows for optimal server consolidation and provides a robust foundation for mission-critical enterprise infrastructure, said NEC.
Egenera chairman president and CEO Pete Manca said Egenera partnership with NEC positions Egenera at the heart of the emerging opportunity for cloud computing in Japan as Egenera continue to deliver data center automation for reliable, protected virtual and physical environments.
"We look forward to working with NEC and to the opportunities the partnership creates for the future," said Manca.
NEC associate senior vice president Takao Maruyama the relationship extends NEC’s rich history of providing customers with technologies and expertise across a wide range of mission critical systems.
"Egenera’s PAN Manager combined with NEC’s SIGMABLADE systems builds on that foundation and enables us to flexibly and economically?create highly reliable private clouds for businesses," said Maruyama.
