Just before Christmas, Electrocomponents Plc sold its remaining Misco computer supplies businesses to companies controlled by Systemax Inc and HCS (Global) Ltd, together referred to as Global Computer Supplies, for GBP10m. Operations being sold are based in the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, the US and Canada. Electrocomponents says net cash resources stood at GBP20.6m at September 30. In the year to March 31 last, the Misco Group, which sells computer products in Europe and North America, incurred pre-tax losses after exceptional items of GBP6.6m. Electro components expect to make an additional charge on disposal of around GBP1m at the year end.Separately, Electrocomponents announced that its RS Components arm appointed Jakob Hatteland Supply A/S in Norway, and Amidata SA in Spain to represent it.
