Some of these things do spend a long time a’cooking, and it was way back at around this time last year that we told you that Elektrowatt AG did not actually want the payphones business of Landys & Gyr AG, which it had then just bought, and that it was in talks to hand it on to Siemens AG (CI No 2,839). There is still no firm news, but we hear that the sale of the Swiss company – for a fancy price, no doubt – really is imminent now.
